We cannot speak more highly of Jenny’s tutoring. Our son started with her in mid January after getting a U grade in his AS Maths mock. His confidence was very low and he was sure he would fail his AS exam in the summer. He was particularly struggling with the statistics element of the subject and couldn’t see how it could be used and how it related to his life so we employed Jenny to tutor him initially for the S1 element of the course.
From the very first lesson, Jenny really sparked his interest and understanding. She had found out that he was interested in cricket and based the first session on Ben Stokes innings in South Africa. Suddenly he could understand probability and she had him hooked!
Her enthusiasm for teaching means that she doesn’t stop exactly on the hour if my son is in the middle of a problem. She sets homework and this is marked promptly outside of the tutorial session and she has high expectations. She also asks him to email her with any specific problems he has during the week, either as a result of the work she has set or with his school maths, so you are getting over and above the hour you pay for. Moreover, Jenny is excellent at keeping us, as parents, informed as to what they are covering in each lesson and has given him a timetable of sessions leading up to the exam.
Our son’s confidence is high now and he even scored an A grade in his last school stats mock paper a couple of weeks ago.
As they have now completely covered the stats side of the course and my son feels secure with this, Jenny has moved on to covering the elements of Core 1 and Core 2 Maths that he finds more difficult and we are confident he will progress well here.
In conclusion, we cannot fault Jenny as she has transformed our son into someone who believes he can now do maths. Our son also really likes Jenny.

As she went into year 11 lessons were very much organised to help our daughter gain her confidence and be ready for the summer exams. Jenny would often find papers for her to try, explain any queries in a very calming manner, give her fun ways to remember her Maths. Her approach to lessons was always well planned and brilliantly executed. Our daughter was predicted a level 5 after her mocks, she needed a 6 or more to get into her 6th form of choice and was over joyed to get a level 7 ! She wanted to tell Jenny as soon as we could and as expected Jenny was so delighted for her. I can’t recommend her highly enough, she is a FANTASTIC tutor.

Jenny tutored our son in A level maths for over a year. It became apparent towards the end of year 12 that he was struggling with both the academic and organisational demands of the A level. In addition to the excellent tutoring, Jenny provided him with invaluable support by helping him to organise his folders and by providing revision notes and plans. Jenny’s patience and kindness as a tutor increased his confidence, and the effort he and Jenny put in was rewarded with an A grade, so smiles all round!

My son is a strong mathematician in year 13 and was looking for someone to stretch him as he was preparing for university entrance exams to study Mathematics at university. He had already taken Maths A level in year 12 and was sitting Further Maths A level in year 13. Jenny was brilliant in this role. She is an excellent tutor at this advanced level, and she brought along lots of extra resources to help him. Her knowledge and love of the subject and general enthusiasm really supported him. Jenny has been a wonderful tutor to our daughter who was severely lacking in confidence for her GCSE maths. She is fun, engaging and so kind. Our daughter loved her sessions with Jenny and, as others have said, whilst Jenny does have high expectations, they were imparted with such gentleness that it was never felt to be onerous. She simply wants the best for her pupils and wants to get them to reach their true potential. She is brilliant at communicating with the parents and switched to online tutoring with no difficulty at all, indeed offering a lot more than the school. Her lessons are engaging and fun and homework set and marked. We have had maths tutors before for our other girls and Jenny is a huge cut above. I can’t recommend her highly enough.
